Sign in and accept an invite

Your office invites you to GumbyOps. You sign in with your own phone number, and there’s no password.

1. Open your invite

Your office sends you a link, usually by text. Open it on your phone, in the phone’s browser: Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android. The link works for 7 days, once, and only for the phone number your office entered. If it has expired, ask your office to send a new one.

2. Sign in

  1. Enter your phone number and tap Send code.
  2. Type the 6-digit code from the text and tap Sign in. If the text doesn’t arrive, wait 30 seconds and tap Didn’t get it? Send a new code.
  3. You’ll see “You’re joining” with your company’s name and your role. Tap Continue.

3. Location while you’re on the clock

Next, a screen explains how the app uses location. In short: only while you’re clocked in, never in the background or after you clock out, and you’ll see “Location on” at the top of the app the whole time. Clocking in and out has the details.

4. Add the app to your Home Screen

The app then shows the steps to add it to your Home Screen. Do it now: it’s how notifications reach you. See Install GumbyOps as an app.

On iPhone, after adding it, open GumbyOps from your Home Screen and sign in once more with the same phone number. Your invite is already accepted, so nothing else is asked.

“You need an invite”

If you added the app before opening your invite, the app may say you need one. Open the invite link from your office’s text in your phone’s browser (Safari on iPhone), sign in there, then come back to the app and tap Check again.

Signing out

Open the Me tab and tap Sign out at the bottom. Clock out first: you can’t sign out while you’re on the clock.
