Clock in and out
Clock in from the Today tab when you get to the job site, and clock out when you’re done.
Clock in
- On Today, tap Clock in. The button says “Finding your location…” for a few seconds.
- At one of today’s job sites, you’re clocked in to that job right away: “Clocked in to Oak Street deck at 7:02 am”.
- Anywhere else, the app asks Which job are you on? Tap the job, or Not listed if it isn’t there. Your time starts when you tapped Clock in, not when you answer.
Paid time starts at your first job site. If you clock in away from every site you’re on today, the app tells you how far you are and asks first. Tap Not yet and clock in when you arrive, or type why you’re clocking in here and tap Clock in anyway. Your supervisor sees the reason with your clock-in.
While you’re clocked in
- A banner across the top says Location on · Clocked in to the job, the whole time. It goes away when you clock out.
- Switch job moves your time to another job. If you open the app at another of today’s sites, it asks “You’re at … Switch to it?” with Switch and Not now.
- Supply run records a trip for materials without clocking out. See Today: notes, photos and supply runs.
Clock out
- Tap Clock out.
- Check the time in “Clock out at …?” and tap Clock out (or Cancel if you tapped by mistake).
- Crew leads then see the Daily log for the job: What got done, What’s blocked, What’s needed tomorrow, and a photo. Tap Save, or Skip.
When the app reads your location
Only while you’re clocked in:
- when you clock in, clock out or switch jobs, and
- when you open the app (or come back to it) while clocked in, at most once every set number of minutes. Your company chooses the number; it’s 30 minutes unless they change it.
The app never reads your location while you’re clocked out or while the app is closed, and it doesn’t track you in the background. Your company’s Admins and Supervisors and the manager of the job you’re on can see where you clocked in and your latest reading. Customers never see it. Location points are deleted after 90 days; the place you clocked in and out stays with your time card.
If location is off or blocked
Your time still counts. If the browser has blocked location, Today shows Location is blocked on this phone with the steps to turn it back on, and the banner says Location blocked. On iPhone, the steps are in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Safari Websites: choose While Using the App and turn on Precise Location.
Your time card
The Me tab shows My time card for this pay period, with each day’s hours by job, and your punches and supply runs. From the last day of the pay period, Submit my time sends the card to your supervisor for approval.
Changing your mind about location
On the Me tab, under Location policy, Withdraw consent turns off clocking in from the app until you agree again. Clock out first. Your supervisor can record your time for you meanwhile.
No signal?
Clock in and out anyway. The app saves the punch on your phone and shows Waiting to sync. Your time is saved on this phone. until it reaches your company.
